[box type=”info” align=”aligncenter” ]MAJOR UPDATE 13:34 11th November 2016 – The Police have now viewed CCTV from MG Sanders which show Joshua clearly on the canal towpath travelling North away from Stone town centre.
We don’t have a time or further information but Police are reviewing CCTV footage further along the canal near to Britannia Stadium. We urgently need any private houses or businesses with CCTV footage along the canal between Stone and Stoke or even as far as Westport Lake to let us know please.
We will be updating search areas on Facebook later today and in the meantime anyone who can help with posters and raising awareness in areas between Stoke and Westport Lake Northwards and in directions of from the canal to help us. [/box]

Joshua SmithJoshua’s family have sent us the following appeal as they continue to search for him.

It has now been two and a half weeks since Joshua Smith, aged 27, from the Crossings in Stone went missing on Tuesday 25th October 2016. For his family it is heart-breaking that there has been no significant news to help locate him during this time. CCTV confirms that Joshua left the house that Tuesday Morning on foot turned left over the railway crossing down Uttoxeter Road at 08.34am  then went straight over the crossroads and onto Copeland Drive which leads towards the Canal.

There are still no sightings or CCTV information that help us to determine whether Joshua then went North towards Stone or South past Aston Marina towards Sandon If he did go South he will have had to cross the A51.

For this reason any CCTV footage from that day (business, home, Dash Cams, GO Pros) is vital for us to help us find him. It is also of importance to us to continue to contact as many people as possible using posters, flyers, media and social media to reach out to anyone who hasn’t heard that he is missing and may have vital information to help us.

As a family we are utterly devastated and at a loss to know what to do without our beloved Joshua. We are hugely appreciative of all of the support we have received. The Police and Search and Rescue teams have been excellent and worked hard to try and locate him. The community in Stone and wider community have been truly amazing in offering us help and support and going out and searching potential areas. We only wish Josh could see how much love and community spirit he has inspired.

In terms of where to search regrettably we have no new leads, it is likely that he will be in countryside/rural areas, possibly forested areas with a view but this is not confirmed. Josh could also have walked for some distance that day.

Police Contact is to call 101 quoting incident number 639 of October 25

Hi! My brother owns a busy nightclub in Hanley. If you would like to get in touch we could display posters for you. I hope Joshua can be found safe and well.
