The nights are getting darker, and thoughts are turning to Halloween, Bonfire night, and of course Christmas.
Last year A Little Bit of Stone teamed up with Stone Community Hub to bring people who would be lonely at Christmas together with those who had a seat spare at their festive table. We’re proud to say that A Little Bit of Cheer’s inaugural year meant that a dozen people had more to look forward to than they would have without the scheme, and some firm friendships were formed.
This year we’re hoping more people can get involved to add a bit of sparkle to the season’s celebrations. We’re therefore seeking hosts that could accommodate an extra guest (or two) either on Christmas Day or Boxing Day. If you’re going to be alone this Christmas and would like to work with us and the Hub to find a host then we’d love to hear from you too.
Working with the Hub, the ALBOC team will help to place guests with suitable hosts using a number of methods for the pairing process. There will be separate host and guest meetings as well as pairing meets before the actual day.
