Now in their fifth year, the Staffordshire Dignity in Care Awards recognise groups and individuals who provide outstanding care, always going that extra mile for those they care for. People now have until Friday 24th May to get their nominations in and can do so online at www.staffordshire.gov.uk/dignityincare.

Up for grabs this year are seven awards, including Dignity Champion, Leadership Award, Young Dignity Champion, and Informal Carer of the Year. The Awards are open to those who work in the care sector as well as informal and young carers.

Alan White, Deputy Leader at Staffordshire County Council and Cabinet Member for Health, Care and Wellbeing said “We’re keen to get as many people as possible nominating which is why we’ve extended the deadline by three weeks.

“We’ve already had lots of nominations but we know there’s hundreds of great carers out there and we want people to get them nominated. We’ve made nominating even easier this year too and it should only take around 20 minutes to do. So, if you know an amazing carer, professional or informal, dedicated young carer or a deserving care company then please get them nominated”.

People can also request a hard copy version of the nomination form by contacting the team on 01785 355795 or emailing dignity@staffordshire.gov.uk. Shortlisted nominees will be invited to the awards ceremony on 10 July 2019 at Newcastle under Lyme College.
