Stone attempted murder arrest following an incident on Tuesday evening

Police handcuffA 43-year-old man, from Stafford, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Stone after a 38-year-old male suffers a serious head injury.

Staffordshire Police were called to an address on Redwood Avenue in Stone around 7.30pm on Tuesday 5th January to reports of a teenage male trying to open van doors.

“Officers attended and found a 38-year-old man with a serious head injury.

The male was transferred to Royal Stoke University Hospital by ambulance, where he remains in a critical condition.

A 43-year-old man, from Stafford, was later arrested in the Old Road area on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody while inquiries continue.

There is an increased police presence in the area to provide reassurance to the local community.”

Staffordshire Police have confirmed that the teenager referenced in the original police report was later determined to relate to the 38-year-old victim.
