Whilst lots of Stone hospitality businesses will be opening their doors to welcome people inside from Monday, Granvilles won’t be re-opening under its current ownership of Adam and Mandy.
Adam and Mandy placed Granvilles up for sale before the Covid pandemic, and they’ve decided that when Granvilles re-opens again, it should be with a new buyer starting a new chapter.
Adam and Mandy sent the following video through for us to share, saying:
“After a lot of thought, Mandy and I have decided not to reopen Granvilles but to wait for a new buyer to start their own new chapter.
I have included a short video to thank everyone for supporting us over the last 37 years and also to encourage people to keep supporting their local traders!
Hope you like it and would be most grateful if could share it on LBOS.
Many thanks to you for all your support too.
All the best Adam and Mandy.”
Anyone who’s been in Stone for more than a couple of years will have some memory of Granvilles. Whether that be the excellent live music, comedy nights, a meal in their tranquil garden or simply a place to hang out with family and friends, it’s been a focal point of Stone’s day and nightlife.
We really love the video they’ve put together; it shows some great history of Granvilles but also images of what Stone is all about – A caring community that’s visitor and family-friendly, supported by an array of independent and a handful of more mainstream shops.
We’re sure you’ll wish Adam and Mandy the best as they embark on the next chapter of their life; we also look forward to welcoming in new owners when someone spots what a fantastic piece of Stone history they can buy into.
From A Little Bit of Stone, we’d like to say Thank You to Adam and Mandy for what you’ve done at Granvilles, and more wider the town, it can’t be underestimated – Thank You!

After moving here in 1989 Granvilles has played a big part in our social lives, a place to get together for a night on the town, to celebrate special birthdays. We have watched, and even got involved! as it became our children’s go to place for their own nights out. We are fortunate to have gotten to know Adam and Mandy who should be congratulated in creating a place with such a great atmosphere which made it so special. They have supported Stone with their enthusiasm for the place they called home and are a credit to the town.
Enjoy your retirement, you’ve earned it!

Granvilles has been and always will be a wonderful place to eat, meet friends and boogie on down. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Good luck with your new venture
