“We were called at 7.57pm to reports of an incident at Shoemaker Place, The Fillybrooks in Walton, Stone.

One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

Upon arrival we found a man.

Unfortunately, it immediately became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”

The closure meant that for a period of time, residents who lived off the A34 were unable to return home or leave whilst the emergency services dealt with the incident.

Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the man involved.
