Seventeen-year-old Stone artist Kay Benbow has won the Under 18’s category at the Art Unlimited International Art Competition 2024 with her striking piece titled “Conniption”.
The competition featured an open theme, allowing artists to submit works in any medium. Kay’s artwork captured the unanimous attention of the judges—Lady Victoria Conran, Julie Montagu, Viscountess Hinchingbrooke, and Richard Vine—who selected her as the winner from a field of talented young artists worldwide.
Kay and her parents travelled to Lyme Regis over the weekend to attend the awards ceremony held on Saturday, 14th September, at The Malthouse Gallery. The exhibition, showcasing all finalists’ works, runs from September 10th to 22nd.
In addition to the prestigious title, Kay received £300 worth of Daler Rowney art materials of her choice. Her winning piece, “Conniption,” remains on display at The Malthouse Gallery until the exhibition concludes.
Attendees of the exhibition still have the chance to vote for the ‘”People’s Choice” award which is announced on September 22nd.
