Sixteen-year-old boy arrested after sexual assault at skate park

Staffordshire Police have arrested a teenage boy from Stone after a girl in her early teens was sexually assaulted at a skate park in Yarnfield.

UPDATE 23rd October 2024 – 9:12am : The 16-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of sexual assault following an incident in Yarnfield has been bailed outside of Staffordshire with strict conditions.

At 3.35pm on Sunday (20 October), officers were called to an area near Yarnfield skate park following reports that a girl in her early teens had been sexually assaulted.

Officers worked quickly to carry out enquiries and make an arrest.

The girl is continuing to receive support from specially-trained officers at this time.

The 16-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has since been bailed with conditions and is not currently residing in Staffordshire.

We’ve got a robust patrol strategy in place and will be continuing to provide extra reassurance to local residents.

“At 3.35pm on Sunday (20 October), officers were called to Yarnfield skate park following reports that a girl in her early teens had been sexually assaulted.

Specially-trained officers are supporting her at this time.

We carried out swift enquiries and arrested a 16-year-old boy, of Stone, on suspicion of sexual assault.

He remains in custody.

We’ve got lots of neighbourhood officers patrolling the area today and carrying out increased patrols while our investigation continues.
