A 25-year-old woman from Walton died in a road accident near the M6 in Stone.
Julie Faye Johnson, of Churchill Road, Walton, died in the accident on the B5026 Eccleshall Road near to the bridge over the motorway. She was driving a blue Peugeot 206 when it hit a gate post and wall of a property.
Police and paramedics were called but she was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed for several hours on Saturday morning (30th November) while a scene examination took place. Police are urging any witnesses who saw the car or the collision to come forward.
Sgt Richard Moors, from the force’s Collision Investigation Unit, said: “While the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning there may be witnesses who were in the area at the time. Specially trained family liaison officers are working with the relatives and our thoughts are with the family at this distressing time.”
