Burglars knocked through two walls and stole a large number of bicycles from The Velo Store in Stone on Sunday night (1st June).
Thirty-six bikes worth over £43,000 were stolen in the raid. Shocked staff discovered what had happened when they turned up for work on Monday.
Staffordshire Police sent us this statement this afternoon:
“Unknown offenders broke into the Velo Store premises on Emerald Way, Stone Business Park, between 9.30pm and 11.30pm on Sunday 1st June and stole a number of specialist bikes and cycling accessories.
“Two vans were seen in and around the area prior to the incident and we’re keen to hear from anyone who saw them in the area or recognises them. One was an Eevco XLWB silver which is believed to be a Generation 4 ( 2006-2011 model) and has an extra long wheel base and high top, it also features distinctive yellow lights along its side. The second van was a silver Vauxhall Astra.
