The Old Alleynians were originally formed as an Old Boys’ club from Alleynes Grammar School in 1962. Former pupil Dave Bonnett figured that it would be a good way to keep in touch with his old school chums and got the team subsidised by the institution’s Old Boys’ Society to buy shirts – although they had to supply their own socks and shorts.
