New pizzeria, 800 Degrees, will bring a taste of Naples to Stone when it officially opens on Tuesday 21 May 2019.
The restaurant is located at 56 Newcastle Road (where Hatters formally was) and will be a welcome addition to the local food scene.
The new pizzeria will open for both lunch and dinner daily, catering for up to 80 guests, and will operate on a walk-in basis, only taking bookings for seven guests or more.
800 Degrees Pizzeria prides itself on offering its guests authentic, made to order Neapolitan style pizzas, cooked in its distinctive traditional wood-fired pizza oven. The owners are passionate about sourcing only the freshest and finest ingredients and the pizza sauce is made from San Marzano tomatoes, grown in the volcanic soil of Mount Vesuvius near Naples, Italy.
T
he artisan pizza dough, made on site from a closely guarded secret recipe, is at the heart of what 800 Degrees Pizzeria is all about. Slowly fermented over 24 hours and then cooked at 800 degrees for around 60 seconds, the team boast that this “results in the best pizza you will have ever tasted outside of Italy.”!
In the pizza family, the Neapolitan style pizza differs from its thinner, crispier brothers & sisters as the air is pushed to the outside of the dough creating a chewy, pillowy crust. Like all Neapolitan pizza aficionados, the team at 800 Degrees Pizzeria believe that a certain amount of charring or ‘leopard spotting’ is a must for the best flavour and appetising look.
Chris Perkins, Managing Director, 800 Degrees Pizzeria, said:
“Following months of hard work and planning, we are delighted to be opening our new restaurant, 800 Degrees Pizzeria and creating local jobs for people in the area. We love what we do and are proud to bring authentic Neapolitan pizzas to our local community. We’re always on the lookout for hardworking, creative, and friendly people to join the team so pop in and see us.”
800 Degrees Pizzeria will also be baking their own artisan sourdough bread using the same slow fermentation process as their pizza dough which can be baked to order.

How lucky we are in Stone to have real neopolitan pizza of this quality in such a vibrant and inviting setting. I’ve been lucky enough to dine at 800deg a couple of times with my young family and found it to be an utter delight. The staff are attentive, the menu fresh and the ambiance delightful. I can see this being our regular haunt!
