Some dates for your diary if you’re interested in local history – Stone Historical and Civic Society have a packed programme of talks coming up over the next 12 months.
All the talks will be held at St Michael’s Hall in Lichfield Street, starting at 7.30pm. Annual membership of the Society is £15 (which gives free entry to all of the talks), while admission to non-members (who are always welcome) is just £2 per talk.
One of the talks is from Alan Appleby, who restored a historic flint mill in Stone with the help of TV architect George Clarke. It made for a brilliant TV programme on Channel 4, and Alan will be talking about the project on 17th February next year.
