Staffordshire’s biggest cycling festival, RideStaffs, has won the support of businesses ranging from major players in the cycling industry through to small, Staffordshire independents.
The business backing reflects the standing of the event, now in its 6th year, both locally and in British cycling’s sporting calendar. Taking place at Shugborough over the weekend of Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd July, the festival will feature two major professional races, making it great for spectators, with the chance for members of the public to ‘get on their bikes’ and take part in Sunday Sportives.
Staffordshire Technology Park-based IT specialists risual is sponsoring Saturday’s RideStaffs Kermesse which, as the opening round of the British Cycling Motorpoint Grand Prix Series, will see 120 of the country’s top elite riders compete.
Sales Director, John Pittaway said: “Having an event like RideStaffs on our doorstep is fantastic – it not only brings pro cycling to Staffordshire but actively encourages the community to get on their bikes and get involved. We’re proud to support such a great event for the county.”
Friday’s pro race, the RideStaffs Grand Prix, is being sponsored by leading UK bike and cycling apparel firm Specialized, which has a concept store in Stafford’s Eastgate Street.
And it’s not just the pro races that have gained sponsors – the short INTO22 Sportive is supported by local sustainable transport project INTO while Saturday’s under-fives balance bike races are being sponsored by Strider Balance Bikes. Other sponsors include The Lewis Partnership, EU Automation, Addmaster, Make It Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire, Pedal Sure, Matrix Fitness Equipment, HasBean Coffee, Wolseley Wine Loft, Shimano and Stone’s Lymestone Brewery, which has once again brewed a special ale in honour of the event, which was launched last week.

In return, we’re providing a great platform to promote products and services to a captive audience of avid spectators over what promises to be a great sporting weekend.”[/box]
And there are still opportunities for companies to get involved.
A ticketed Friday evening VIP networking event will see guests enjoy hospitality throughout the evening in a marquee adjacent to the finishing line of the RideStaffs GP – ideal for entertaining clients. There is also the chance to sponsor a lap of the pro races and see your company’s name up in lights on the festival’s big screen, which will not only show the RideStaffs races in action but will screen live coverage of the Tour de France getting underway on Saturday and Sunday.
