Sugnall Walled Garden near Eccleshall will once again host Plant Hunters’ Fair for a brilliant event, giving all garden lovers a chance to explore this working 18th Century kitchen garden at the height of summer, on Sunday 7th July.
Visitors to the plant fair and garden can also roam the adjacent woods all for the special entry price of just £1. At this time of summer, the old roses should be in full bloom and full of fragrance, the herbs will be a-buzz with bees. It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy a kitchen garden and browse the plant stalls full of summer colour.
Martin Blow of Plant Hunters’ Fairs said, “We are really excited to be here, the kitchen garden will be full to the brim with vegetables, fruit and flowers and it’s really special to be able to choose from a tearoom menu that showcases the garden’s own produce”.
“As always, we have invited our favourite nurseries all with their own unique range of plants from trees to alpines, herbs to herbaceous perennials. Plant lovers will find old favourites, rarities and brand-new varieties all lovingly grown by the specialist nurseries. We all love the atmosphere at Sugnall Walled Garden, which is intimate, friendly and steeped in history”.
Gates open at 10am and the fair continues until 4pm. The Walled Garden is on the B5026, Eccleshall to Loggerheads road. There is ample free parking. Full details from www.planthuntersfairs.co.uk or phone 01785 850820 to contact the garden.
