Stone Crossroads will resume its Monday evening youth sessions on 14 September after the summer break, with organisers appealing for more volunteers to help keep the service running.
The youth centre had hoped to return sooner, but says a shortage of volunteers has delayed its restart.
Stone Crossroads provides weekly sessions for local children in School Years 4 to 8, giving them a place to meet friends and take part in games, sports, arts, crafts and other activities.
Sessions are held at The Crossings Community Centre on Station Approach in Stone every Monday during school term time, from 6pm until 8pm.
The group is now looking for more adults aged 18 and over who can spare around two hours on a Monday evening.
Volunteers are asked to arrive at 5.45pm to help prepare before the young people arrive, with the session finishing at 8pm.
Stone Crossroads says people do not need previous experience of youth work or working with children. Volunteers can help by welcoming and chatting to young people, joining in with games and activities, supporting refreshments or simply helping provide a safe and positive environment.
The group would particularly like to hear from people who can help regularly, but says anyone unable to commit to every Monday is still encouraged to get in touch. Having a larger group of volunteers would allow the commitment to be shared between more people.
All volunteers will be DBS checked by Stone Crossroads as part of its safeguarding arrangements.
The group said the additional help is needed to make sure it can continue providing the sessions without having to restrict places or turn young people away.
Stone Crossroads is due to return on Monday 14 September.
