Today marks the official launch of A Little Bit of Stone’s business directory, an initiative crafted from reader feedback and our vision to build a more sustainable platform for Stone’s local businesses.

This directory isn’t just a new feature—it’s a reflection of our community’s needs and a way to foster stronger connections between residents and the businesses right on their doorstep.

A Little Bit of Stone is Stone’s most read local news source, and with 25,000 website visitors, and over 50,000 social media followers – we always spotlight our directory when people are looking for plumbers, mechanics, accountants and so much more!

Why we created the directory

Over the years, we’ve noticed a recurring theme in Stone’s Facebook groups: people asking for recommendations for plumbers, garages, accountants, and more. Time and time again, the suggestions often point to businesses outside of Stone. This raised a question: Is it because people aren’t aware of the great local services available here, or is it simply a habit for those who’ve recently moved to the area?

Our business directory aims to change that. By spotlighting Stone’s diverse range of businesses, we’re making it easier for residents to find, support, and shop locally. When you spend locally, you’re not just buying a product or service—you’re helping create jobs, keep money circulating within the town, and strengthen our community ties.

Designed for flexibility and sustainability

We’ve been developing the directory website over the past month, and we’re thrilled to finally open it to the public. Unlike traditional directories, which can feel static and outdated, ours is dynamic and easy to update. Businesses can tweak their listings throughout the year, ensuring their information stays current and relevant.

Special launch pricing until 2nd March 2025

To celebrate the launch, we’re offering special pricing on directory listings until 2nd March 2025. There are three tiers to choose from, each designed to meet different business needs. You can explore the features and costs here: directory tiers.

Whether you’re a small start-up or an established business, there’s a place for you. And because the directory is integrated into A Little Bit of Stone’s wider platform, your business gets visibility not just within the directory but also through our website and social media channels.

How to get involved

  • If you’re a business owner, list your business today: Add your business.
  • If you’re a resident looking for services, make the directory your first port of call: Browse listings.

We also encourage readers to mention A Little Bit of Stone when contacting businesses. This helps businesses see the value of being part of the directory and supports our goal of strengthening local connections.

We still offer advertising packages on our main website, you can read more about those at – Advertise with Us!

What’s next?

While we’re excited to launch the directory, this is just the beginning. We’re planning to add features like business reviews to help you make informed decisions. For now, we wanted to get the directory up and running so that Stone businesses and residents can start benefiting right away.

We value your feedback as we continue to develop the directory. Share your thoughts with us at directoryfeedback@alittlebitofstone.com.

This isn’t just a directory; it’s a community resource designed with Stone in mind. Let’s support local, grow together, and make this the go-to hub for everything Stone has to offer.
