A mindful morning in Stone: Tai Chi and Qi Gong taster session

Residents of Stone looking for a relaxing and health-focused activity to start their Sunday have an exciting opportunity coming up.

On Sunday, 9th February, an Introduction to Tai Chi and Qi Gong session will be held at The Sanctuary, 65 High Street, Stone. This mindful event runs from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and costs £7 per class.

Discovering Tai Chi and Qi Gong

The session, led by Alan Jefferies, a highly experienced and registered Tai Chi instructor with over 35 years of expertise, is perfect for individuals at all levels. Whether you’re a curious beginner or an advanced student seeking deeper insights, Alan’s inclusive teaching style ensures that everyone feels welcome. Alan is affiliated with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain, further guaranteeing the quality of this session.

Participants will begin with 10 minutes of sitting Qi Gong, focusing on simple breathing techniques. From there, the class will explore standing and dynamic Qi Gong, which forms the foundation of this ancient practice. Alan will also introduce the Yang Style 24 form, incorporating elements from Parts 1 and 2, offering a rounded glimpse into Tai Chi’s graceful movements and meditative approach.

Why try Tai Chi and Qi Gong?

Tai Chi and Qi Gong are celebrated for their numerous health benefits, including improving balance, reducing stress, and enhancing overall well-being. With their slow, intentional movements and mindful focus, these practices encourage participants to reconnect with their bodies and minds.

As Alan says, “These sessions are designed for everyone, regardless of experience. It’s not about achieving perfection but about exploring the practice at your own pace.”
