A Peace Vigil will be held at Stone’s Peace Pole on Crown Meadow on Saturday, the 13th of April, at 11:00am.
Organisers from the Stone Quakers told A Little Bit of Stone:
“We would love people to join us between 11:00am and Midday on Saturday to remember all those caught up in war and violence and to reflect on what we can do to promote a more peaceful world.
The vigil will be largely silent but with some readings and prayers to guide our thoughts.
If you are able to join us for all or part of this time, we would love to see you.
lease spread the word to any others you think might like to come. For anyone who would like to stay to chat afterwards, we are planning to go to The Crown Wharf for a coffee after the vigil.”
Stone Quakers are one of seven Quaker meetings in Staffordshire that this year celebrate the 400th anniversary of the founder of their movement, a man called George Fox. In this year of global conflict, they want to emphasise their commitment to creating a more peaceful world. This small event is a chance to find out who Quakers are and what they believe in.
