Stone’s Advent Windows is becoming one of the best Christmas traditions in Stone and sees the town transformed into a giant Advent calendar in the run-up to Christmas Day!
And we’re delighted to report that the Advent Windows project is back again in Stone in December for the sixth year running.
If you haven’t experienced Advent Windows yet, make sure you have a look at our stories, photos and videos from the last five years to see what it’s all about!
Christ Church is again co-ordinating the Advent Windows event. Twenty-four shop fronts and businesses along the High Street and around Stone town centre will be hosting creative displays made by schools, nurseries and other community organisations on the theme of the Christmas story.
Each day at 11am from 1st December to Christmas Eve, a window will be revealed, part of the Christmas story will be told and a Christmas Carol will be sung. Everyone in the town is invited to join in.
And there’s an extra special event on Christmas Eve – a marathon Carol singing walk will take place – starting at the Lock Keepers Salon on Stafford Street at 9.30am, we will sing our way up the High Street to finish with the final opening at 11am at Christ Church, followed by refreshments for all. It’s a magical event and the perfect start to Christmas.
[box type=”shadow” ]Helen Bowes from Christ Church said: “Do join in with us if you can. We would like to thank all those taking part and hope that the windows will bring the spirit of Christmas to Stone!”[/box]
