A new chapter is about to begin for the former Chocbox shop on Stone High Street, as AEDdonate prepares to open its second charity shop in the town. This time, the focus is all about furniture and homewares — and, much like the charity’s life-saving defibrillators, it’s about bringing something back to life.
Bringing new life to an empty space
The new AEDdonate Furniture and Homeware Store will officially open at 10am on Wednesday 2nd April, breathing new life into the long-empty retail unit right in the heart of Stone.
The charity’s existing shop will continue to operate as normal, while the new store will specialise in pre-loved furniture and homewares. For the first time, AEDdonate will be able to accept larger donated items, helping to reduce waste while supporting the charity’s mission.
Every purchase and donation will contribute to AEDdonate’s vital work installing and maintaining public access defibrillators — devices that have the power to bring someone back to life in a cardiac emergency.
A second charity shop with a fresh purpose
With charity shops already a familiar sight on high streets, AEDdonate understands there might be some raised eyebrows. But this new store brings more than bargains to the High Street.
- It gives a long-empty unit a new purpose, helping to keep the High Street vibrant
- It offers affordable furniture and homewares to help local residents furnish their homes for less
- Every sale directly supports the installation and upkeep of defibrillators, providing the community with life-saving equipment
The team hopes residents will see this not just as another shop, but as a way to shop sustainably, support a local cause, and help save lives — all at the same time.
Jamie Richards, CEO of AEDdonate said about the new shop:
“We are delighted to be expanding our presence on Stone High Street with the launch of our second store. Stone is a thriving, community-focused town, and we are proud to be part of it.
This new space allows us to offer quality pre-loved furniture at affordable prices while promoting sustainability and reducing waste. It’s an exciting opportunity to support both the local community and our mission to provide life-saving defibrillators.”
