A 16-year-old Air Cadet Sergeant from Stone took part in a 160km four-day march in Holland.
Sergeant Amy Watson from 395 Squadron of the ATC (Air Training Corps) completed the gruelling Nijmegen March with other members of the Staffordshire Wing ATC Nijmegen Team. The march had a different route each day through the landscapes of the Dutch provinces of Gelderland, Brabant and Limburg, through the city of Nijmegen and its outskirts. Over 40,000 people from around the world took part.
Amy said: “It was a battle of body and mind and I couldn’t have completed it without the support of my fellow Staffordshire Wing ATC Nijmegen Team members and wonderful supporters who lined the streets along the way. It was also a great opportunity to meet some fantastic people from other civilian and military organisations from across the world.”
Amy had the privilege of joining the Staffordshire Wing ATC Nijmegen Team after successfully completing the RAF Cosford two day 80km march earlier in the year for the second year running.
