Following Stone Old Alleynians’ 2-2 extra-time draw with Ellesmere Rangers in the FA Vase on Saturday (see the match report) , Old Boys manager Matthew Smith has called on local supporters to attend the replay on Wednesday night and give his side a boost.
Kicking-off at 7.45, the game will take place at Wellbeing Park, Yarnfield, and admission is FREE.
“This is perhaps the biggest game in the club’s history,” said Smith. “We’ve made an excellent start to our league campaign, as have Ellesmere – who play a division above us – and so everything is set up for an exciting night of cup football.”
“Saturday’s game was very finely balanced and we were unlucky not to hang on and get the win in 90 minutes, but we’re confident we can cause an upset and put on a performance. Having a big Stone crowd behind us would really give our lads a boost and make this an extra-special occasion.”
