On 29th October, Andrew Best and Andrew McNaught are organising a 24-hour charity gaming event in aid of Macmillian Cancer Support and PWSA UK – Prader-Willi Syndrome Association UK.
They have been inspired by similar 24- hour gaming events that can be viewed on Youtube and Twitch live streaming.
Macmillian Cancer Support do great work helping sufferers of cancer and their loved ones. They help ease the troubles and worries brought about by cancer which in turn saves lives.
Perhaps a lesser known charity, the PWSA UK offer invaluable help to people with Prader-Willi Syndrome and their parents. PWS is a rare and complex condition affecting no more than 1-15000 births.
People with PWS have restricted growth, short stature, reduced muscle tone, learning difficulties, behavioural problems and a constant desire to eat as those affected lack the connection from their stomach to their brain which means they always feel hungry no matter how much they eat.
Living with PWS can be very difficult for the family and the person with it as Andrew McNaught and his wife Susan know. Their youngest son Percy has the condition, and as they learn to live with the daily challenges they face as a result, they also try and do as much as they can for the charity PWSA UK who offer invaluable support to families like themselves.
Andrew is one of the members of the team attempting the 24-hour gaming event and little Percy will come and do his bit too.
