In light of the current restrictions, Christ Church, who run the annual Stone Advent Window trail are making this year’s advent window unveiling an online event.
Christ Church is looking forward to their 11th year of Stone Advent Windows Community Advent calendar.
This year will be very different, and although they won’t be having their usual daily gatherings to ‘open’ the 24 windows and sing a song they still will have 24 created displays all around the town which can be enjoyed when in the town.
All the ‘windows’ will be on display for the whole of December to allow people to be able to follow the Advent Windows Trail and enjoy the wonderful displays throughout the month.
Each day they will ‘virtually’ open a window on the Christ Church FaceBook page, where visitors can enjoy seeing the window, hearing a section of the Christmas Story and listen to a Christmas Carol.
Christ Church have said the following:
“We would like to thank all the businesses who are allowing us to use their window space and all the schools, nurseries and organisations creating the artwork. There will also be a competition with prizes so do look out for all the information and take part!
Our theme this year is ‘Hope was born at Christmas’ – focusing on Hope, Faith and Love which are the foundations of our Christian Faith and are encompassed in the great promise of the Christmas story. We hope that you enjoy our Community Advent Calendar – see you on Facebook!”
