Appeal after dog dies in hit and run collision on Yarnfield Lane

Staffordshire Police are appealing for information after a dog died following a non stop collision on a Yarnfield Lane.

The incident happened on Yarnfield Lane between around 7.30pm and 7.45pm on Wednesday 17 December.

Police say a black miniature Schnauzer was involved in a collision with a blue car. The dog was badly injured and sadly died shortly afterwards.

The driver of the car did not stop at the scene.

Officers are now asking anyone who was in the area at the time to check any CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage they may have. This includes nearby homes and vehicles travelling along Yarnfield Lane during the time window.

Yarnfield Lane is a well used route, particularly with the ongoing Eccleshall Road closure. Police believe there may have been witnesses or vehicles passing through who could assist with the investigation.
