Appeal after fire extinguisher incident in Stone

A fire extinguisher was set off through a letterbox at a property in Lichfield Street, Stone, on Sunday night.

Police were called at around 10.40pm. A spokesman said: “The hose from a fire extinguisher had been put through the letterbox and the extinguisher triggered, causing the foam to cover the floor of the porch. No-one was injured and no permanent damage caused.”

The homeowner said the experience was very frightening and said her children were “distressed for hours”.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 813 of February 1. Alternatively, they can contact independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
