Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at the Betfred bookmakers on Stone High Street.
A man entered the bookies at around 1pm on Wednesday 30th November. He threatened a female member of staff and stole a quantity of cash. He left by the rear entrance which leads on to Crown Street, near the car park of the Co-Op supermarket.
The member of staff was unharmed during the incident but was left shaken.
The offender is described as white, aged in his late 30s, of medium build and 5ft 10ins to 5ft 11ins tall. He had messy short brown hair and several days worth of facial hair.
He wore a waist-length dark blue Puffa-style jacket, dark trousers and spoke with a local accent.
Chief Inspector Paul Trevor of Stafford Borough Local Policing Team said: “This type of incident is very rare in Stone. It happened in broad daylight when there would have been lots of people around so we are asking anyone who saw anything to come forward.”
An investigation is now under way and anyone with information is asked to contact DC Ian McDonack on 101 quoting incident number 279 of November 30th, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
