Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Stone early Friday morning.
The incident happened at around 2am (Friday 2 September) in Stafford Road, near its junctions with Eccleshall Road and Tilling Drive.
The victim, a 53-year-old man from Stone, suffered head and chest injuries and was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.
Three man, two from Stoke-on-Trent, aged 28 and 32, and a 21-year-old from Stone, have been arrested on suspicion of assault. They remain in custody for questioning.
The area where the assault took place was cordoned off while a forensic examination took place. The cordon has now been lifted.
