Are you registered to vote in Police Commissioner election?

election

With the election of Staffordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner just weeks away, residents in Stone and across the borough are being urged to make sure they are registered to vote.

People are being told they will not be able to take part unless they are on the electoral register.

To vote on 5th May, people must register by 18th April. The last date to apply for a postal vote is 19th April and for a proxy vote it’s 26th April. Anyone living abroad applying for a postal vote must have been a UK resident registered to vote in the last 15 years.

The role of the Police and Crime Commissioner is to hold the Chief Constable and the force to account, effectively making the police answerable to the communities they serve.
