Art Trail coming to Stone in May/June 2020

Stone is set to play host to its very first Art Trail as it pitches up in May for a whole month of riotous art-filled fun.

The free event will see businesses buzzing with art in their windows, with demos & deals, canvases & collages, hidden bees & high street marquees, urban sketchers – to name but a few things that you’ll see.

The Art Trail event is the brainchild of Beth Wyatt who runs the art group, Shires Artists which exhibits regularly around the region.

Of the event Beth said:

“I had a vision of Stone as an art centre and wanted to draw artists and anyone appreciating art altogether. And maybe introduce art to a new audience.

“Stone has many festivals but not an art festival. So I approached Shires Artists with the idea and they were extremely keen to help get this off the ground.”

Beth now has an enthusiastic team who are putting their many skills to work to bring the full colour of the art scene to the town of Stone in May.

“Connecting the High Street businesses of Stone with the many artists around this area was the first step and we’re so pleased at the positive response from everyone we’ve approached.

Each business will be paired with an artist to give display room for their art and our visitors will be able to follow this trail around the town and purchase if they wish to, so everyone involved benefits.

“We have lots more ideas and surprises in store, too, including children’s activities, a community canvas, competitions and a grand opening on May 23rd, so watch this space.”

If you are an artist working in Stone and would like to be involved, contact Beth Wyatt on bj.wyatt@btinternet.com. The deadline for applications is 24th January.
