Dedicated to stocking only locally-reared meat that meets the Marina’s exacting standards of animal welfare and quality, the butchery prides itself on producing cuts that have been aged to perfection to give the very best flavour.

Foodies will find a great selection of meats – including poultry, lamb, beef and pork alongside venison and seasonal game – all sourced within 20 miles of the Marina.

In addition, the butchery also produces its own range of hand-made pies, sausages, black pudding – and even seasonal offerings like haggis – to its master butchers’ own recipes.

[box type=”shadow” align=”aligncenter” ]Director Helen Webb says:  “We take the quality of meat available from our butchers’ counter very seriously and are so confident that it outperforms cuts from the supermarkets that we regularly run taste comparisons in store. We also work hard to ensure that it represents great value for money – people are often surprised when they scratch beneath the surface of the supermarket deals that, pound for pound, they’d actually get a better deal from our butchers’ counter yet have the luxury of knowing that the meat they are buying was raised to the highest welfare standards just a few miles from where they live.

“A classic example is chicken breasts – we ran a taste comparison recently against a well-known supermarket’s pre-packed product and not only did our free range chicken breasts win the taste test but they were far larger than the ones from the supermarket; actually working out at better value by weight. We’ve launched the loyalty card to try and encourage more people to come and see for themselves what sets our butchery apart from the competition.” [/box]

[box type=”info” ]Loyalty cards can be picked up in Aston Marina’s Farm Shop free of charge; stamps will be collected for buying various different cuts including mince, pork chops, chicken breasts, venison, sausages, lamb, steak, burgers and roasting joints. Free products including sausages, burgers and minute steaks are offered as rewards for every three stamps collected on the card.
