Aston Marina makes Cheese Counter of the Year Award final

Aston Marina is once again celebrating its cheese counter being named among the top 10 in the country.

The Marina, which last ranked in the nationwide top 10 back in 2012, will now go forward as a finalist in the Cheese Counter of the Year Award category of the 2015 World Cheese Awards, with the winner set to be announced at Birmingham’s BBC Good Food Show on 26th November.

It’s not only as a nominee that the marina will be represented at the awards though.  Director Helen Webb, who holds a Diploma in Cheese from the Guild of Fine Food, and farm shop manager Gill Howe – a self-confessed ‘curd nerd’ with years of experience – have been invited to join the expert panel that will sample and judge some of the finest cheeses in the world.

Both Gill and I are real cheese lovers, so we’re very excited at the prospect of sampling all those delicious cheeses.” [/box]
