robbery

Staffordshire Police is appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Stone last night (Tuesday 7th June).

At around 10.30pm last night, a male had purchased some takeaway food on Lichfield Road. He then walked down the service road at the side of Flames takeaway shop on to Abbey Street, where he turned left and walked over the dirt footpath on to the Priory estate. He then joined the footpath that runs parallel to the canal.

Having passed some bungalows to his left he was then approached by an unknown male and punched to the face and an attempt made to steal the victim’s wallet. In self-defence, the victim punched the male back and managed to get away.

The male is described as white, in his mid to late 20s, around 5ft 8ins to 5ft 11ins, of a proportionate build with very short hair. He was wearing glasses, a hooded jacket and jeans.
