Totally Locally Stone launched on Saturday in the town centre with a clear message to local people – spend a fiver a week in the town with our independent businesses and watch the High Street go from strength to strength.
Totally Locally sees traders working together for the common good and the campaign has certainly caught the imagination of local businesses, with over 100 signing up to the campaign. And they entered into the Totally Locally spirit on Saturday, with lots of discounts and special offers available for shoppers.
The campaign really has galvanised local businesses and a spirit of co-operation, not competition, was alive and well on Saturday. One trader said that before Totally Locally was set up they didn’t really know any of the other people running local independent businesses in the town – and that Totally Locally had changed all that.
Here are some audio interviews with some of the organisers of Totally Locally Stone and some of our brilliant independent businesses. Please do your best to support them.

We had the most amazingly successful day launching Totally Locally on Saturday. We have the most supportive and enthusiastic team of traders in the UK. Rob Angie and me began the long hard slog of putting everything together 5 months ago and were helped along the way by Leek who are also Totally Locally. Through the media we have made sure the word is out there and published the details of meetings etc and traders have talked to each other. We were so lucky to have reached 104 local and independent traders joining in with pushing this forward. We’re taking this slowly as we don’t expect to build Stone in a day and have already started to put plans together for the next event. The Stone Gazette has been a dream of a help and without him and Laurence of Panda press none of this would have happened, It’s a shame someone has been missed but I don’t know how as everyone else has managed to get in touch with me and be a part of Totally Locally. We have to keep the spending in Stone and not try to be greedy and take it to other towns we need to promote Stone. From the bottom of my heart WELL DONE STONE! P.S. We took advantage of The Lounge’s special offer after you all left 4 tapas bread olives and a jug of sangria, well maybe more than a jug, it was gorgeous.
Local business
Interesting concept and I will actively support it.
However having a local business myself i contacted the head office for Totally Locally asking for my local contact.
1 week later still no reply…

Hello sorry you didn’t manage to find out about Totally Locally Stone. Any of the traders displaying the literature and posters would have been happy to help you. Perhaps we will see you at the next meeting, all welcome.
