Carolyn Kirby is coming to Stone Library on Thursday 23rd October at 2:00pm to talk about her latest novel Ravenglass.

In this richly illustrated talk, Carolyn explores the world inhabited by the characters of her new novel Ravenglass, a family mystery and an adventure in gender identity set at the time of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s Jacobite rebellion.
From the birth of industrialised coal-mining to the terrors of the slave trade, from the outlawing of tartan cloth to a craze for shopping, Carolyn has chosen eight objects from the book that explain how the foundations of modernBritain were laid at this pivotal time.
The talk will be followed by an audience Q and A and a
chance to buy a signed copy of Ravenglass.
This is a free event but booking is essential. Places are booking up so don’t miss out! Call Stone Library on 01785 895585 or pop in to book
