A 1980s night is being held at Stone Cricket Club on Saturday 25th January to raise money for the stroke unit at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.
The evening of music, nibbles and fun (and optional fancy dress) starts at 8pm at the club on Lichfield Road / Priory Road.
Players at the club – alongside The Dog & Doublet in Sandon – raised money during Movember for a rehab chair for the stroke unit after club secretary David Hawbrook was treated there last year after a stroke. David is making a good recovery thankfully, but his friends and family are keen to make as much money as they can, and have made a staggering £4,500 so far.
Sharon Turner has organised the 1980s night, which starts at 8pm. Tickets cost £5, with all proceeds going to the fund.
Sharon said: “Us ladies didn’t want to participate in Movember for obvious reasons! So this is our way to raise some money for a very good cause. It’s going to be a fun night!”
There’s a Facebook event page HERE where you can sign up to order your tickets, or email Sharon at sshzngrhm@aol.com
