Baystone a new home interior design studio set for Stone town centre opening

Baystone InteriorsThree local entrepreneurs are turning an empty shop unit in the centre of town into a new home interiors design studio.

Baystone Interiors Limited is a new joint venture between husband and wife team Julie and Juan Gilly and Kevin Higgs. We recently caught up with them to hear about their new business opening in Stone’s Station Road soon.

The three new directors know Stone and their target market very well; Jullie is originally from Barlaston and attended Alleynes school (in the early 1980s), Juan has experience in property maintenance, plumbing, bathroom installation and Kevin is from Hilderstone and runs both Builders UK Ltd and Ashwood Timber Products Ltd. giving him extensive building experience.

The trio explained to A Little Bit of Stone how they came up with the idea for the new business:

“With Kevin being in building trade, he was often asked if he supplied kitchens, and this was an area that he was interested in getting involved with.

Julie & Juan have always had a keen interest in property (including refurbishment) and with Juan’s existing involvement in property maintenance and Julie’s strong admin skills and project management experience, it made sense to “partner up” on this new adventure.”

In property, there’s a well-known saying Location…Location…Location, what made you select Station Road as your new home?

“Baystone Interiors have just taken over the lease at 13 Station Road, Stone, next to the police building and what was formerly Cella’s. We have local knowledge of Stone and love the community feel.

The location of this unit is perfect for us – not quite on the High Street, it gets the footfall and vehicular traffic but private and quiet enough to provide design consultations inhouse.”

Going on to explain more about the new space the team added:

“Rather than a large kitchen showroom, we have opted for a more personal, “design studio” feel.

There will be a couple of displays and lots of different ranges, styles and colours to choose from, with something to suit every budget, from traditional/classic styles to ultra-sleek minimalistic modern or industrial feel.

We will also be able to offer bespoke services, including colour match on some of the ranges.”

In types of services that the business will offer will be:

  • Kitchen – supply or supply & fit, including appliances
  • Fitted bedrooms – supply or supply & fit
  • Bathrooms – supply or supply & fit
  • Home office – supply or supply & fit
  • Full project management of building extensions etc

Although the studio refurbishment isn’t complete the company is now open for business:

“We are about to commence the refurbishment of the unit over the next few weeks and, Covid permitting, hope to be able to open officially when the lockdown restrictions are lifted.

However, we are open for business and are taking appointments for virtual design consultations.”
