Best boozer award for The Swan!

Congratulations to The Swan Inn in Stone, which was named best pub in the borough at the Best Bar None awards.

Nineteen pubs, bars and clubs went head to head in the third year of the ‘Best Bar None’ competition. The competition was launched in Stafford Borough in 2010 and is designed to raise standards in premises in Stone and Stafford town centres and help reduce the amount of alcohol-related crime.

The establishments were assessed by a team of officers from the borough council, county council and Staffordshire Police, and scored on four licensing objectives which aim to increase public safety, reduce public nuisance, prevent crime and disorder, and prevent harm to children.

Last week, at a special awards evening at Weston Hall, the winners in each category were announced:

• Best Bar – The Swan Hotel, Stafford
• Best Pub – The Swan Inn, Stone
• Best Club – Casa, Stafford
• Best on Door – Casa, Stafford
• Best Overall for Stone – The Swan Inn
• Best Overall for Stafford- Casa, Stafford

The awards evening was held at the newly refurbished Weston Hall, and was co-sponsored by Stone’s ABV Training.
