Oak Tree Farm Rural Project has teamed up with Beyond The Barricade for a night of show-stopping music at Sandon Hall on 11th September.
Oak Tree Farm Rural Project in Hilderstone, for people with learning disabilities, reaches a significant milestone next October, as it will be 30 years since the organisation was first set up. The charity has grown and now provides activities for over 60 people each week.
It has a horticultural and pottery unit, rears farm animals and runs a thriving tea room. In 2014, its many achievements were officially recognised, when it was presented with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
Their theme for the year ahead is ’30 Years and Growing’, which sums up nicely how far the organisation has come, and where it hopes to go in the future. They aim to develop the opportunities for people with learning disabilities via an off-site gardening and volunteering scheme, plus improvements to the shop, office and woodwork facilities at the farm. These changes will improve the experiences of those who attend the farm and enable new people to benefit as well.
Beyond the Barricade enjoy an enviable international reputation, in addition to boasting the accolade of being the UK’s premier musical theatre concert tour. Comprising four past principal singers from ‘Les Miserables’ plus their own backing band of talented musicians, it’s easy to see why a hugely enjoyable evening is anticipated, all set against the impressive picturesque backdrop of Sandon Hall.
Full details of the event can be accessed via the Oak Tree Farm website, as listed on the poster shown above, but in essence, please plan to bring along your own chairs and picnic provisions in the way of nibbles and drinks. There is no charge for gazebos, which will have their own designated area.
A group rate is available, while admission for under-16s is half price and free for under-fives.
