Bill Cash elected as Stone MP for the 7th time

Conservative Sir Bill Cash has retained his Stone constituency seat for the 7th time, a seat created and held since 1997.

Sir Bill has been the MP for the town of Stone since the Stone Constituency was formed in 1997, having previously held the Stafford (which include areas of the current constituency) seat since 1984.

Sir Bill secured 73 additional votes from the 2017 General Election, making a small increase in the vote share to 63.6%,  his vote share was 63.2% in 2017

Labour candidate Mike Stubbs lost 2,377 votes compared to Labours 2017 Stone results, acquiring 23.6% of the vote – down from 28.2% in 2017

Liberal Democrat candidate Alec Sandiford added 2190 votes and secured 8.9% of the vote, up from 4.4% in 2017.

And finally, Tom Adamson of the Green Party more than doubled the 2017 result adding 1,295 votes to the 2017 result and taking 4% of the vote, up from 1.4% in 2017.

Turnout was slightly down on the 2017 election, from 73.91% to 72.16%.
