Bin collections update

The snow and ice have continued to severely disrupt Stafford Borough Council’s waste and recycling collections in Stone and across the borough.

Bin crews have been out collecting where they can but this is mainly on treated roads. A council spokesman said that using bin collection vehicles in side roads is dangerous to residents, the bin crew, property and other vehicles.

  • If your bin was due to be emptied within the last two working days (Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd December), the council asks that you leave it out until Monday night as crews will make every effort to empty it.
  • If your bin has not been emptied by Monday night, take it back on to your property to be emptied on the next scheduled collection date for that bin.
  • Any resident who has had their bin missed this week can either put out three additional bags of general waste alongside the green bin or three additional bags of recycling alongside the blue bin on the next scheduled collection day for that bin, depending which has been missed.  Where possible, avoid placing glass items in the plastic bags.

Waste and recycling can also be taken to the county council site in Beacon Road, Stone. Details of opening times and directions can be found here

How does this apply 2 bins that were due 2 be emptied on tuesday 30th novemeber?

    • Hi there. It sounds like you’ll need to keep your bins until the next scheduled collection date to be honest. On the next collecction date you’ll be able to put some extra bags out as the council says.
