Work on Stonefield Park’s new aviary is due to finish this month.
The refurbishment follows feedback from people in the area where almost everyone who replied to Stafford Borough Council’s consultation said they would like to keep an aviary in the park.
Stonefield Park has been home to the old aviary since 1988. And the new structure will provide 50 per cent more space – 8.5m by 7m for approximately 30 birds including budgies, finches and cockatiels and has cost £15,000.
The aviary has been constructed using timber, brick and galvanised mesh in keeping with the surrounding area. And the refurbishment also includes an additional path to make accessing the aviary easier.
Can’t wait to welcome the birds home!
