Two teachers from St Michael’s First School in Stone are holding a black tie fundraiser at the Britannia Stadium in July to raise money for Claire Hubbard and Christopher Bond.
Claire Swift and Laura Gardiner have organised the event – which takes place on Saturday 5th July – to raise money for the Seal The Leak appeal to get her fellow St Michael’s teacher Claire Hubbard to the US for treatment for her Postural Intra-cranial Hypotension. It means her brain is not floating in cranial spinal fluid (CSF) as is the case with healthy people and is instead slowly sinking causing extremely painful headaches, spasms and seizures.
Claire Hubbard is writing a blog about her experience, which is well worth following. Click HERE to have a look.
The event will also raise money for Walton Priory School pupil Christopher Bond and his family. Christopher flew to the US for treatment on a brain tumour at the end of April. The treatment is partly funded by the NHS, but further funds are needed.
Claire Swift said: “These two incidents have left me feeling upset and angry that money needs to be raised to enable these people to receive the treatment they deserve. I will be hosting a black tie fundraiser at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday 5th July.Tickets are £35 each and will include a three-course meal, arrival drink, red carpet treatment, live entertainment, special guests, raffle, auction and more!”
A Facebook page has been set up for the fundraising event HERE
