Blanc NRI by James Dahl brings fine Indian dining to Stone

Blanc NRI takes over the former Bengal Lodge, and after extensive refurbishment, it hopes to be open by late August 2018

BLANC NRIThe new restaurant will be the second restaurant from Husban Ahmed; the 31-year-old behind the award-winning Birmingham based James Dahl Indian restaurant.

The Blanc NRI team prides itself on serving contemporary Indian cuisine. Dishes are prepared with the best quality ingredients, some sourced from around the world. Blanc NRI plansFollowing the closure of the Bengal Lodge, the Blanc NRI team have commenced an extensive interior and exterior renovation of the premises.

The new restaurant will be sleek and modern with a sophisticated interior to make diners feel at home. Fitted out with French furniture the interior will have a luxury feel with its lighting scheme and leather and velvet seating.

Blanc NRI brings together inspiration of the vibrant and flavoursome dishes of India blended with the fine dining of France and Dubai to deliver an elegant dining experience.

Husban explained to A Little Bit of Stone his reasons for the new venture in Stone:

“As a teenager I worked at the Bengal Lodge and was really taken by the love and support of the customers who came in and used the restaurant.  I made a decision that if ever the opportunity arose I would take it with both hands to open up a restaurant in Staffordshire.

“When I heard that the Bengal Lodge was to close down and be sold I knew that I must do everything in my power to acquire, and transform it into a high quality dining experience.

“I found a fantastic chef in India who was working at a Michelin star awarded restaurant. I explained my vision for Blanc NRI and he set about creating some sample dishes for me. The food that he created was excellent in terms of quality and taste and I just knew that it would work for the people of Stone.

“I’m really excited to be coming back to Stone and give something back to the customers who had such and impact on my early working life”

    Ate there 0n 10th October great atmosphere, great service, great food, My first Fine dining Indian experience definately not my last.

    The food, hospitality and decor at Bengal Lodge has always been superb. As one of the staff once said after I complimented him, “It is your restaurant , we are here to please you”. I do hope that the same staff will continue to work at blanc India.
