Police in Stone have warned people to be on their guard after a bogus caller pretending to be from Sky TV tried to trick the bank details out of a resident.
The Neighbourhood Watch member was called on Wednesday evening by a man claiming to be from Sky who tried to get her details, including her bank details. She refused and he became abusive.

A police spokesman said: “Remember, under no circumstances should you give out your personal details, particularly any of your bank details, to anyone over the phone. If you are unsure, refuse your details and ring the company from a phone number found by yourself to confirm the identity of the caller.”
