It’s believed that 14 new homes will take the place of the community boozer, which opened in 1968. The Bonnie Gem is suffering the same fate as The Vine in Oulton Road, which was razed to the ground recently to make way for new homes. Meanwhile, the future of Langtrys in Old Road is STILL in doubt, with no sign of it reopening weeks after it suddenly closed its doors.

thats what happens when no one supports ya when we had the pub it was buzzing our sunday carverys were the best RIP BONNIE GEM X

    • Its all about the price of booze in the pubs at the end of the day. A lot of the Ales are now over the £3 mark which is a lot when its 1/3rd of the price in the supermarkets.

Very sad. But there is better news about Langtreys. There is a new licensee just waiting for the previous licencee to vacate the premises.
