Brownies show members of Stone Scout and Guide Band  how it’s done!

Manor Hill First School was alive with the sound of music recently when Stone’s very own Scout and Guide Band entertained Stone District Brownie packs.

Over 50 Brownies and their Leaders enjoyed the chance to try out the instruments and even tried a spot of marching practise! One of the Brownies said: “I had great fun with all the other Brownies and my favourite part was beating out a rhythm on the big drum.”

The band is made up of members between the ages of eight and 18. Anyone in Guiding or Scouting can join and anyone over 14 is welcome too. They don’t have to have an instrument or be able to play one as they are taught everything they need to know. They take part in many local parades and events and will be taking part in competitions in the near future. Practice is Saturday morning, 10am to 12pm, at The Pumphouse on Westbridge Park.
