Eighty guests made sure that Stone Community Hub’s first big fundraising event was a huge success, with almost £3,000 raised on the night.

The event was a Burns Night supper and ceilidh in the majestic setting of Sandon Hall on Friday 29th January. TV presenter Nick Hancock conducted a charity auction in great style, and there was a raffle too, with lots of prizes donated by generous local businesses.

The 80 guests enjoyed pre dinner drinks, a welcome on behalf of Lord Sandon, an excellent dinner, fine whisky and several toasts across the evening! The evening ended with a ceilidh led by Stone band Blarney Stone.

Ian Fordham, one of Stone Community Hub’s trustees, said: “The evening raised almost £3,000 for the charity thanks to the kindness of our Patron, Lord Sandon, the marvellous support of more than 20 local businesses and individuals who donated auction and raffle prizes – and of course the outstanding generosity of our guests. We’re already planning next year’s event!”
