A ladies’ luncheon club is to open in Stone for women who are serious about growing their businesses.

The ladies-only group at The Mill restaurant is part of the Staffordshire BforB (Business for Breakfast) network which provides networking for more than 130 business owners and executives across the county.

The launch meeting will be held on Tuesday 24th April between noon and 2pm.

It is the second women-only group to be opened by BforB Staffordshire following the success of a lunch group at the Moat House, Stoke-on-Trent, which is celebrating its first birthday in April.

The Stone group will be run by Michelle Walton, business partner and wife of BforB regional director Stuart Walton, and Sarah White, owner of Stone mobile phone communications specialists m-viron.

“The BforB foundations have been built on meetings for businessmen and women over breakfast,” said Stuart Walton of BforB Staffordshire. “But many women with children can find breakfast networking difficult to get to and there is also evidence that some women in business find women only networking preferable to mixed groups.”

The ladies lunch groups take the same format as the BforB breakfast meetings. Members meet fortnightly and the emphasis is on building strong contacts who will recommend fellow BforB members to people in their wider business circles.

Stuart Walton, a former corporate finance director and past president of the Stafford Chamber of Commerce, launched Business for Breakfast Staffordshire with around 30 members in April 2010.

An estimated £500,000 worth of business was generated between the 130-plus Staffordshire BforB members in 2011.

There are now seven groups across Stoke-on-Trent, Leek, Stafford and Penkridge averaging around 20 members each.
